siteXpansion, Inc. is a team of developers and business people aligned with potentially thousands of third party developers to create a new concept in Web software development. With a proprietary software core, siteXpansion offers a development structure that allows high-speed database connectivity and highly functional applications normally associated with large corporate sites to be affordable and simple for small to medium sized businesses.
A New Concept in Web Site Creation and Maintenance
siteXpansion has developed a new concept in Web creation and maintenance. We are developing a series of applications named siteXpanders that integrate together so that all aspects of a site can be managed in one place, without incompatibilities. Based upon a single application core, each siteXpander, developed by siteXpansion and third party developers, expands upon the previous application set, allowing a full site to grow to have only the functionality you want.
siteXpansion provides diversified Web site functionality tool software in the areas of customer relation management, ecommerce and presentation, while encouraging third parties to develop additional integrated applications.
The siteXpansion Difference
There are hundreds of applications available from hundreds of companies covering every function conceivable for a Web site. However, there is little or no integration between them. For example,
A typical site visitor might have to complete multiple signup forms for e-mail lists, help desk, forum, shopping cart, etc.
Live chat applications are difficult to tie in and manage with other software.
Each application has its own search function that does not search other applications or static Web pages in the same site.
Content management systems can't edit shopping cart or forum content.
Blogs are completely separate entities from the rest of a site.
Integrating statistics packages sometimes takes hours of custom programming, if it's possible at all.
Alternatively, some companies offer relatively complete application sets, but are closed to outside programmers. Users can pick and choose from the company's menu of options, but are limited to those options alone, usually hosted with the same company for total dependency. Certainly there is no competition within that platform, and therefore minimal innovation.
siteXpansion's siteXpander applications are all based upon a single core Administrative Interface, free to the end user. Written in PHP, tens of thousands of programmers are already prepared to develop applications to tie into the ADMIN application. siteXpansion will offer an increasingly diverse set of applications, while encouraging completely open competition from third party developers.
